I'm talking about Core Competencies – attributes necessary for effective performance within an organisation. Competencies can be purely role related, or be a mix of personal and job attributes. They can be highly specific, or somewhat generic. But what is important, is that Core Competencies must be at the centre of the whole HR function, which includes recruitment, appraisals, training and development and even succession planning. And, even more importantly, they must be linked to the organisation's Common Goal/s.
So what are the steps to roll-out Core Competencies?
